When you use our AI-powered transcription features (such as summaries, key points, or multi-speaker detection), your audio may be processed by third-party AI services. The specific service used depends on your chosen transcription mode:
- Offline Mode: Uses Apple's on-device Speech Recognition. Your audio never leaves your device.
- AI Mode: May use cloud-based AI services (such as Google's Gemini) for enhanced transcription quality.
Offline Transcription - Complete Privacy
When you use Offline Mode with Apple's on-device Speech Recognition:
- All transcription happens locally on your device
- No audio or text data is sent to any servers
- Your recordings and transcriptions never leave your device
- No internet connection is required
- Complete privacy guaranteed
Usage Information
We may collect anonymous usage data to improve app performance and user experience. This includes:
- App crashes and error logs
- Feature usage statistics
- Device type and operating system version
Purchase Information
If you purchase a Pro subscription, your payment is processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not store your payment information. We only receive confirmation of your subscription status from Apple.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide and maintain the VoiceNote service
- Process your audio recordings and generate transcriptions when requested
- Improve our app's functionality and user experience

Data Storage and Security
Local Storage: All your audio recordings and transcriptions are stored locally on your device by default. You have full control over this data and can delete it at any time.
Cloud Processing: When using AI transcription features, your audio may be temporarily transmitted to and processed by third-party AI services. These services are bound by their own privacy policies and security measures.
Security Measures: We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data during transmission and processing. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

Apple Speech Recognition (Offline Mode)

Google Gemini AI (AI Mode)
When using AI-powered transcription features, your audio may be processed by Google's Gemini AI service. Google's privacy policy applies: https://policies.google.com/privacy
We do not share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
Your Data Rights
You have the right to:
- Access: View all data stored in the app
- Delete: Remove any or all of your recordings and transcriptions at any time
- Export: Export your recordings and transcriptions from the app
- Choose: Select which transcription mode to use (offline or AI)
- Opt-out: Disable AI transcription features and use only local, offline transcription
Data Retention
Your recordings and transcriptions remain on your device until you choose to delete them. When you delete content from VoiceNote, it is permanently removed from your device.
If you used AI transcription services, temporary copies may have been created during processing. These are automatically deleted by the service providers according to their data retention policies.
Children's Privacy
VoiceNote is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy in the app and updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy.
